I hope that you enjoyed your day as much as our family did. I prepared brunch for our family. Our oldest Son and our Grandson came over to eat and open presents. I cannot believe that our Grandson is twenty. It just seems like yesterday that he was born. He is away at college now. We love it when he comes home.
We are proud of our boys. Our oldest lives near us. The middle Son is not too far. Our youngest lives in Austin. Hand over my heart for the great state of Texas.
One of my friends commented on my last blog that it sounded "sad". There is no sadness in my home now that Lexi is here. Thus...BoxerJoy. Now I don't want you to think that having this lovely creature is not without some challenges. Three weeks ago I took her walking in our neighborhood. She spotted another furry creature, and a child. Have you ever tried to hold the leash of a boxer. Let me tell you, she is nothing but bone and a muscle. I spend every other day last week at the physical therapist getting my neck and back into shape. Can you say..whiplash!
Christmas has been fun this year I am sure that all of you that love pets enjoyed filling up their little stockings with treats. Lexi got a little santa, a ball, one of those little rubber Kongs that hide her treats. That keeps her busy for a while. Her favorite gift was her cowhoof. Those things are nasty, but she loves them! It is my understanding that they are loaded with protein.
People blog for different reasons. My friend Rhoda has a decorating blog. If you ever need someone to help you get your home decorated and whipped into shape on a budget, Rhoda can help you. Check out her blog Southern Hospitality. One of my favorite blogs is The Pioneer Woman. She allows us to take a peek at what it would be like to work and live on a cattle ranch. She takes beautiful photography, and is the most incredible cook. We whip up her recipes at least once a week. We had the Marlboro Man sandwich tonight. I labeled it... the coronary sandwich because it has so much butter in it.
My hope is that someone might read my blog, and decide that they might want to get a furry friend for their home. We had a poodle for 13 years. She died in 1996, and I swore that I would NEVER get another dog. It is just too darn painful loosing them. Something in my heart changed last year. I guess one thing is, I work close to home. Yep, my lunch hour is spent with my girl. Another thing is there are just so many little pets out there that need a home. I kept looking at Rocky's Boxer website last year, and my heart just melted.
My girl still has some challenges. Every day I thank God for her. She is happy, loves her family...and we know that the rest will come in time.
I pray that all of you will have a Happy New Year!
Love,
Lexi's Mom

Thanks for stopping by Canyon Wren Cottage and letting me know about Austin's Radiostar. I'll have to check them out.
I love that you care about animals. I have a dog and three cats and love them all. Have a great weekend!
